Ready Set Go!Website development
I do practical, professional website design -- with a focus on communicating your critical information in an accessible and cost-effective manner. Whether you are looking for a simple home page or a comprehensive, integrated strategy for strategic content management, I can help you find a solution!
My Philosophy: Accessibility
I am also in the process of familiarizing myself with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 in order that my sites will be accessible for persons with disabilities and impairments.
Empowering and Cost-effective
Building and maintaining a simple website does not need to be an expensive proposition. If you prefer, I am also happy to setup the basic site design and then focus our energy on giving you the tools and know-how to maintain it yourself. My philosophy in designing websites is focused on accessibility. In practical terms, that means technically simple web pages without lots of fancy stuff that older/slower systems might not be able to handle. The information being communicated is the primary emphasis and a few graphic elements can keep it visually interesting (without getting into more cumbersome technology that may cause trouble for some folks, while also increasing web development expenses).
Some Past Projects:

I worked with this non-profit to update and reorganize their website to better represent the dramatic expansion of their programming in their first few years of development. We further enhanced the impact of the website by developing a monthly electronic newsletter (see http://www.artsandspirituality.org/archive/).
This pastor needed an integrated on-line communications strategy beginning with a website, which also included setting up email accounts, mailing lists, and auto-responders in order to simplify her correspondence.
This professor was a looking for a webpage design, that had continuity with other faculty webpages in her department, but also provided a fresh, clean look.
In-progress - I am currently working with this professor to develop a more professional presentation of her academic credentials. This website has its own distinct, professional design, but fits well with her department's color scheme.
While I am no longer involved in maintaining this site, I organized the information framework for it. Our goal was to find creative and cost-effective ways to leverage limited on-line content (1) to represent the breadth of the magazine's identity and concerns and (2) to help reach more potential readers through on-line, grassroots networking.

This was a quick site I developed to help this small non-profit to establish an initial web presence.
